This is an old revision of the document!

3.4.2.3. Locking the spring pressure ring to engrave without nosecone

For some engraving jobs it is better to engrave without nosecone. On some materials such as polished brass and anodised aluminium the nosecone can cause shadows or scratches.
In the previous chapters you have been able to read how to set up Symmetry to engrave at specific depths.
When working without the nosecone the floating system is not in use.

The settings to execute such engraving jobs can be found here: engraving without using the floating nosecone:
To lock the spring pressure the knurled spring locking ring has to be screwed down completely.
* In the left image you can see this lock ring in its “up” position.
* In the right image you see this ring completely screwed down, as needed to engrave without depth limiting nosecone.
