greasing the leadscrews
Important notes:
The X-axis and the Z-axis leadscrews are easily accessible, applying some grease is easily done there.
Before putting grease on the leadscrews, make sure they are absolutely clean. Use a soft dry cloth to clean them.
The Y-axis leadscrew sits under the engraving table and under a metal cover, both of which will have to be removed to get acces to them.

 | If there is an engraving plate and/or a Multimat on the engraving table, remove them. |
 | Remove the depth regulator nose from the spindle. |
 | Jog the spindle some distance away from the upper left corner, both in the X and the Y directions. |
 | Jog the Z-axis (the spindle) down till there is about 15 mm distance to the table surface.
After that screw a cutter knob counter clockwise in the spindle.
Then gently push a cutter through the cutter knob and the spindle. It has to stick out of the spindle at the bottom.
Push the cutter through the spindle till its tip is as close as possible to the table surface, but without touching it.
Tighthen the cutter knob screw. |
 | Switch off the machine using the mainswitch. |
 | Gently rotate the black knob on the back side of the X-axis stepper motor till the flat side of the cutter is well aligned with the left table stop. |
 | Now check if the finely engraved line on this knob corresponds with the engraved line on the indicator plate.
If that is not the case, loosen the black knob and rotate it to properly align it with the engraved indicator plate. |
| | Re-tighthen this knob. |
| | Screw the depth regulator nose back onto the spindle. |
Continue to opening the electronics compartment.
Continue to the table of contents.
