greasing the leadscrews

Important notes:

  1. The X-axis and the Z-axis leadscrews are easily accessible, applying some grease is easily done there.
  2. Before putting grease on the leadscrews, make sure they are absolutely clean. Use a soft dry cloth to clean them.
  3. The Y-axis leadscrew sits under the engraving table and under a metal cover, both of which will have to be removed to get acces to them.

On the above image it is clearly visible that there is no strain on the timing belt.

Follow the 4 steps below to take off the timing belt from the spindle.

1. Spindle with cutter and cutter knob
2. spindle with cutter and cutter knob removed
3. Rotate spindle clockwise and simultaneously move the belt up on the spindle pulley
4. Finally the timing belt will come off the spindle pulley.

When putting on a new belt, first put it around the spindle motor pulley, then rotate it clockwise over the spindle pulley.
