greasing the leadscrews


Important notes:

  1. The X-axis and the Z-axis leadscrews are easily accessible, applying some grease is easily done there.
  2. Before putting grease on the leadscrews, make sure they are absolutely clean. Use a soft dry cloth to clean them.
  3. The Y-axis leadscrew sits under the engraving table and under a metal cover, both of which will have to be removed to get acces to them.

You can lift up the engraving table and put it on the side.

You can lift up the leadscrew cover and put it on the side.
{afbeeldingAfter having taken away the leadscrew cover you have access to the Y-axis leadscrew.
Clean the area which is normally covered by the engraving table and the leadscrew cover.
Do so using a vacuum cleaner, do not use compressed air.
Apply some grease to the leadscrew, just behind the leadscrew nut.
After having applied some grease you can re-assemble the leadscrew cover and the engraving table.

clean the leadscrew with a soft dry cloth.
Then apply some grease on it.

using the Z-axis jog keys move the spindle down and the Z leadscrew will become visible.
Apply some grease and move the spindle up again.
