===== The engraved data are not positioned correctly on the plate. ===== if your engraved data are not correctly positioned on the plate, you might want to re-calibrate the home position of the machine.\\ To determine if there is a positioning problem, proceed as follows:\\ 1. Engrave a rectangle on a plate with a fine tipped cutter. The plate size is not important, but make sure the upper left corner of the rectangle is 5.0 mm from the left and 5.0 mm from the top plate border.\\ 2. After engraving the rectangle measure the real distance between the left side of the rectangle (the centre of the line) and the left plate border. If that size is 5.0 mm you do not need to change the X-motor calibration.\\ 3. Then measure the distance between the top side of the rectangle (the centre of the line) and the top plate border. If that size is 5.0 mm you do not need to change the Y-motor calibration.\\ 4. If any of these two dimensions are either too big or too small, you have to re-calibrate the home position of the machine. \\ \\ __**To re-calibrate the X-axis home position, proceed as follows**__\\ \\ ^Image ^Description | |{{ :en:x200:dsc03859.jpg?500 |{afbeelding}}|If there is an engraving plate and/or a Multimat on the engraving table, remove them.| |{{ :en:x200:dsc03860.jpg?500 |{afbeelding}}|Remove the depth regulator nose from the spindle.| |{{ :en:x200:dsc03861.jpg?500 |{afbeelding}}|Jog the spindle some distance away from the upper left corner, both in the X and the Y directions.| |{{ :en:x200:dsc03862.jpg?500 |{afbeelding}}|Jog the Z-axis (the spindle) down till there is about 15 mm distance to the table surface.\\ After that screw a cutter knob counter clockwise in the spindle.\\ Then gently push a cutter through the cutter knob and the spindle.
