As long as you keep your index on the mouse button, there will be a text visible alongside the starting point of the rectangle, indicating the exact width and height.

 Typically you will click and drag the mouse from the top left corner to the bottom right corner of the proposed line, but one can work with any combination of opposite corners. Releasing the left mouse button will create the line.

 There are two ways to access this feature:
   * **[[menu_line|Line menu]]** - **Insert Line** option.
   * **Insert Line** shortcut {{:en:symmetry:icon_draw_new_line.png?40|}}.\\ If the **Insert Line** shortcut is not visible, most likely your cursor is currently in one of the current text lines. Clicking on the blank area of the plate, outside any of the existing line contours, will toggle the shortcut menu to the line shortcuts. Among them, the **Insert Line** shortcut.
